Katekézis az Egyházról

Whether one reviews the relevant literature, religious education textbooks or the practice of catechism, one may conclude that teaching about the Church is not present in our catechism with due emphasis. Given the importance of the subject, this omission is not only unfair but (intrinsically) dangerous as well: In the absence of ecclesiological knowledge and without a correct and firm concept of the church, the popular and always fashionable-sounding slogan of ‘yes to Jesus – no to the Church’ poses a considerable risk to not only young individuals with faith lacking depth but also those committed to the message of the Gospel, on the path to imitating Christ. The points presented in the study, on the one hand, highlight the need to fill this gap and, on the other hand, seek to offer a model: an attractive concept of the Church based on evangelical spirituality and suitable for pragmatic transmission in catechetical praxis.
